Getting Back On The Climbing Wagon
O.K. I’ve been slacking in the climbing department.
Here is a list of my climbing related goals for the foreseeable future:
- A private technique class by March
- Keep working on my pull up bar; continue going to the Y at lunch
- Register for the Trad class with the rescue guide that Greg 2 and Victor had – and take it in the spring/early summer
- Practice lead falls from the wall, not the ceiling
- Work on hard bouldering problems once a week
- Do some endurance training each time I’m at the gym
- Continue to work on projects that are higher than my current climbing grade, on climbs that scare and frustrate me just enough – not so much that I glare down at my belayer
If I do these things I think it will result in me getting through the 10- barrier I am facing. Also, I will be able to reward myself with a whole new rack for the summer. And, most importantly, I will be prepared to take some climbing road trips this year, er…maybe fly to some:
- The Gunks, NY
- Skaha, BC
- Squamish, BC
- Devils Tower, WY
Also, Steve just sent this this link my way, very cool pics (esp. Devils Tower):
